The Fastest Old Man in the World

The World’s Fastest Old Man recounts some of the inspiring story of Derek Turnbull, QSM, a Southland farmer who took up running seriously years after most gave it up as a competitive sport. Tucked away at the bottom of the world in the tiny farming community of Tussock Creek was where Derek, the greatest veteran runner of all time, trained.

Since 1975 he claimed 25 World Age Group Records to become ‘The World’s Fastest Old Man’. The title is well-earned but it is certainly not self-bestowed.
